Loyalist Day in Ontario – June 19th 10 am (Virtual)

June 19th is the official day formally established by the Ontario Government to commemorate and celebrate our Loyalist heritage. Read about The Significance of June 19 Loyalist Day. June is also National Indigenous History Month in Canada and National Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21.

Unfortunately, we are not able to celebrate with a flag raising at Queen’s Park this year.

This year our theme is the main settlements into which Loyalists moved after 1783 – Grand River, Cornwall, Brockville/Prescott, Kingston, Tyendinaga, Adolphustown, Prince Edward County, Niagara, Hamilton, Long Point and Windsor/Detroit.

Need your help!

We would like to feature your Loyalist “stories” (vignette, anecdote, family lore) about your Loyalist ancestor and family who settled in that area in time frame of 1783 – 1792 but definitely prior to 1800. If you are on the fence about this and would like a little help, or are concerned about the technology, contact Sally at torontouel@gmail.com or call 647 554 7421.
